Congratulate all of the Southside High School athletes who competed this weekend, May 1st and 2nd. Despite challenging weather conditions on Friday, our students remained focused, prepared, and determined, finishing an outstanding track and field season with tremendous effort and sportsmanship.

Regional Qualifiers

  • Emarald Aguirre – 800m, 1600m, 3200m
  • Serenity Williams – 4×400 Relay
  • Kayla Padilla – 4×400 Relay
  • Bethany Iniguez – 800m, 4×400 Relay
  • Jayden Quiroga – Regional Finalist: 3rd Place in the 400m Dash, 7th Place in the 100m Dash, and member of the 4×400 Relay team

We would also like to extend special recognition to Jayden Quiroga for earning 3rd Place in the Region in the 400m Dash. This is an outstanding accomplishment, especially in such a highly competitive event where only the top two athletes advance to the State Meet. Jayden’s dedication, perseverance, and hard work were evident throughout the entire season, and we are incredibly proud of all she achieved.

Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches on a successful season. We are grateful for the pride, determination, and excellence they displayed while representing our program all year long.

San Antonio, TX – The Southside ISD Education Foundation (SEF), in partnership with Southside ISD, proudly hosted the 2026 Top Ten Percent Banquet and Cord Ceremony for Southside High School, celebrating the district’s highest-achieving students.
The annual event honored students who ranked in the top ten percent of their graduating class, recognizing their academic excellence, dedication, and perseverance. Family members, district leaders, and community partners gathered to celebrate this milestone achievement and to present students with honor cords symbolizing their accomplishments.
Sylvia Rincon Suarez, Executive Director of the Southside ISD Education Foundation, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of community support in making the event possible.
“This celebration is a reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together to support its students,” Rincon Suarez said. “We are proud to recognize these outstanding scholars and the bright futures ahead of them.”
The event was made possible through the support of SEF sponsors and community partners, including Ronald Rocha with Linebarger and Associates, Roger Gomez with Model 1, Rudy Lopez with Pica Pica, as well as CommuniCare and The Robinson Brokerage Firm. Their continued investment in Southside ISD students helps create meaningful opportunities to celebrate and support academic success.
