Southside HS Automotive Program Gets Hands-On Gift
This holiday season comes with a gift that will keep on giving. In the spirit of Christmas, St. Philip’s College, in collaboration with General Motors ASEP and South San Antonio Buick GMC, proudly gifted a 2008 Chevy Impala with fewer than 30 miles to Southside High School’s Automotive Technology Program.
This incredible donation will serve as a hands-on training vehicle, giving our future technicians the opportunity to learn, practice, and grow their skills in a real-world setting. We are grateful for this partnership and the investment in our students’ futures—proof that when community and education come together, everyone wins.
SHS Cross Country Standout Kalub Flores Commits to Concordia
Southside ISD proudly celebrates Kalub Flores as he signs with Concordia University Texas to continue his academic and athletic journey. Kalub’s success is the result of countless miles, early mornings, and a relentless commitment to improvement. Through dedicated club training and the guidance of Southside Head Cross Country Coach Northrup and Assistant Coach Ramirez, Kalub developed the discipline and drive that define him as both an athlete and a leader. His signing marks a major milestone, and we can’t wait to see him represent Southside with pride at the next level.

Southside High School’s own Jadelynn Uriegas has officially signed with the University of the Cumberlands on a full-ride scholarship. A future Patriot with a bright path ahead, she’s turning her talent into something truly special.
Softball has been her stage — long practices, clutch moments, and the kind of grit that lifts an entire team. Her dedication has shaped her journey, transforming hard work into a college-athlete dream come true.
