Southside High School Students Explore Colleges, History, and Ecology
Thirty-eight Southside High School juniors and seniors embarked on a two-day adventure to Houston and Galveston on February 1st and 2nd, exploring colleges, history, and ecology. They kicked off with campus tours and lunch at the University of Houston, followed by a historical deep dive at the San Jacinto Battleground. The trip then ventured into the nocturnal wonders of the Moody Gardens Rainforest, concluding with a visit to Texas A&M Galveston’s maritime and ecology-focused campus. Throughout, students gained valuable insights into academic opportunities and potential career paths, fostering teamwork and community spirit along the way. Every site that we visited told us how impressed they were with the questions our students asked and the way they presented themselves.
This enriching trip provided Southside High School students with a unique blend of learning and fun, igniting their curiosity about future pathways.
