The Southside High School Red Jackets were one of 6 schools selected to perform a special halftime performance with the world-famous Texas State Strutters Dance Team. They danced their hearts out this past Saturday, November 4th at Bobcat Stadium where the Bobcats defeated Southern Georgia. This was a phenomenal opportunity for our Red Jackets. Be sure to check out their performance at halftime this week at the varsity playoff football game.
Tickets are on sale now for the first playoff game of the season this Friday, November 10th where our Southside Cardinals take on the Victoria West Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support our boys! For tickets visit https://southsideisd.org/athletics/tickets/
Congratulations to Senior Erik Zamarripa, Senior Araceli Servin, and Junior Alyza Garcia. These 3 members of the Southside HS Choir represented Southside ISD in the Texas Music Educators Association’s Region 11 HS Choir this weekend at East Central High School. They competed against hundreds of students from 22 area high schools and earned a spot in the region Choir. Also chosen as alternates were Seniors Angelina Morales and Samara Ramos.
The Southside High School Red Jackets dance team hosted a Spring Dance Clinic where students were able to learn dances and perform at a varsity football game. The “Tiny Dancers” learned the SHS fight song and were able to welcome football players onto the field. Throughout the game, the Tiny Dancers performed side by side with the Red Jackets. “It was a wonderful feeling getting to share the magic of football season with the tiny dancers,” said Dance Coach, Natalie Long.
If you would like your child to participate next year be on the lookout for more information regarding the next Spring Dance Clinic.
