Cheryl Conoly is the librarian at Southside HS. Ms. Conoly also serves as our technology guru and helps provide valuable resources to our teachers and students. She is always ready to answer questions and be our technology troubleshooter. Thank you Ms. Conoly for all you do!!
Sandy Rojo is a Senior AP Studio Art student at Southside High School. She is a wonderfully gifted artist whose work has been recognized in numerous local and state contests. Most recently she was awarded 3rd place and a $300 prize for her Fiesta Battle of Flowers Band Contest Cover Design. Sandy also received a Gold Medal for her work at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) Regional contest and an Exemplary Rating IV at the VASE State contest. She was named an All-State Artist by the Texas Art Educators Association. Way to go Sandy!!
Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 21: Southside High School
Morelia Tovar is a math teacher at Southside HS. She is instrumental in math curriculum writing and leads the instruction for our Algebra 1 students. Ms. Tovar along with the math department has spent countless hours to ensure our students have access to various resources. Thank you, Ms. Tovar!!!
Jacob Lopez is a senior at Southside HS. He earned a passing score on both the English Language and Composition AP exam as well as the United States History AP exam!! He is currently ranked near the top of his class and is a member of the high school band where he is the band’s trumpet section leader. Jacob plans on attending the University of Texas at Austin where he wants to study computer science. Way to go Jacob!! Hook’em

Please fill out this form to be put on the SISD waitlist for an internet hotspot. When the hotspots arrive in district you will be contacted in the order your request has been received. After you fill out this order request, it will be reviewed and processed based on the availability of the devices. Southside ISD will issue one per household for student use.
Reminder, there is a very limited number of internet hotspots available. A request for an internet hotspot does not guarantee one will be issued to you. If you currently have reliable internet access, please do not request a hotspot device.

Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 14: Southside High School
Christina Robinson is an Art teacher at Southside HS and has been with the district for 10 years. She has an amazing rapport with her students and is always willing to go the extra mile. This year, one of her students earned the prestigious VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) award which recognizes exemplary student achievement in the visual arts. Thanks for all you do Mrs. Robinson!!!
Joseph Almaznaai is a senior in the Early College HS program and is on track to earn an Associates Degree from Palo Alto College. He’s a member of the National Honor Society and is currently ranked 8th in his class with a 98.43 GPA. Joseph also earned a perfect score on the Chemistry AP exam and plans to study Computer Science at UTSA. Way to go Joseph!!!
Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 7: Southside High School
Southside HS custodian Gloria Mendoza has been with the District for 9 years. She is a team player and takes pride in her work always ready to help where she is needed. Gloria is willing to go the extra mile and will stay and help when others are out. Gloria also assists with evening functions taking place at the high school. Thank you for everything you do for the staff and students!
Garrett Saucedo logged over 35 hours of online instruction last week, during that time he was able to complete courses for credit as well as earn attendance hours. Garrett has maintained an “A” average in his online coursework. He continues to work toward earning graduation credits as we near the beginning of the school year.
Cardinal Spotlight Week of July 24: Southside High School
No stranger to the spotlight, Mr. Robinson has been chosen as this week’s Cardinal Spotlight. Mr. Robinson is our Senior Class Sponsor for the Class of 2020, FIne Arts Department Chair, Theatre Teacher and a familiar “voice” at several Southside High School events. His dedication to our students and community is inspirational. To name a few events, Mr. Robinson has been the MC at our pep rallies, district convocation, virtual graduation, and Homecoming. His work with the UIL One Act Play earned Southside High School the highest score in the district this year. Mr. Robinson, thank you for all you do.
