EOC Tutoring at Southside HS

End of Course Tutoring has started at the high school! Take advantage of the small group learning opportunities to get prepared for the End of Course Exam. Open to all students currently in Algebra 1, Biology, English 1, English 2, and US History or students who need to retake the EOC to meet requirements for graduation. Athletic/Band/Cheer/Dance – Physical Dates for 2021-2022 School Year

The Southside ISD Athletic Department & Community Clinic are hosting the Sports/ Band /Dance/Cheer Participation Physicals for 2021-2022 School Year for only $15 dollars, cash only. No checks or credit cards will be accepted.  Calling all incoming student Athletes/Marching Band/ Cheer/Dance participants for the 2021-2022 school year! Below are the locations, dates, and times available to get your physicals by the campus for only $15 dollars. 

  • 2021-2022 Medical History/Physical Form 
  • 2021-2022 Athletic Participation Packet with Physical Form and UIL Information

Southside  High School

Who: 9th – 12th Grade – All participants will be a new physical for the 2021-2022 school year.
When:  Tuesday, May 25th, 2021
Where: High School Main Gym
Time: 3:30 pm -5:30 pm

Pre Screening Dates:
Monday, May 17th, – Thursday, May 20th, 2021
Monday, May 24th, 2021

Designated Athletic Periods:  1st, 5th, 8th
Designated Band Periods

J.L. Matthey Middle School

Time: 1:30 pm-4:00 pm

Monday, May 24th- Wednesday, 26th, 2021
During the designated Athletic Periods/PE Period/Band Period

Physical Forms (Blue) will be sent home or can be picked up from their designated Athletic Trainer, Coach, Band Director, Athletic office, Campus Front office, or SISD Administration Building during regular office hours. 

Participants will be pre-screened during athletic periods/designated periods and given a time slot to arrive on the date of the physical exam. 

Students must bring a completed Medical History form signed by parent or guardian & Cash payment the day of the pre-screen to have a physical exam performed. 

Students will receive a receipt the day of the exam and are encouraged to keep it for their personal records. Students will not go home with the physical after the exam.  Parents/guardians may request a copy of the physical exam through the Athletic Training Office after May 27th, 2020. Contact the Southside Athletic Training office # 210-882-1606 ext. 1532.

Students who do not receive a physical exam from the school may see a primary care physician, but ALL FORMS MUST BE TURNED INTO THE ATHLETIC TRAINERS ONLY during designated office hours. Turning forms into a COACH, Front Office Staff, Administration, or Athletic Office does not guarantee student participation.

 *Only the Athletic Training Staff Collects Physical Paperwork and participation forms.

2021-2022 Student Registration Now Available Online!

Southside ISD has now open registration for all students who plan to attend Southside ISD during the 2021-22 school year. Each new student will receive a technology device. Parents/Guardians interested in registering their students can contact any campus during school hours to request more information.

  • – Open Registration for new out-of-district students.
  • – *Returning students – Re-enrollment Survey sent home for the 2021-2022 school year. If you have any questions please contact the campus your child is currently enrolled in for the 2020-2021 school year.

STAAR Drive Through Campus Pep Rally – Dates & Times

staar-flyer-5x7Join Southside ISD campus teachers and staff in hosting a drive-through pep rally as we get ready for STAAR Testing! This event will be held on Southside ISD on-campuses after dismissal time in the pickup/drop-off lanes, we would like to encourage parents to decorate their cars, bring noisemakers and help us cheer on our students as we gear up for STAAR testing. Some special incentives for students to do their best include participation field day, campus movie/popcorn, a ticket to win electronic prizes, and other campus incentives.

2020 – 2021 STAAR Testing Dates

What is STAAR?

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) program, which was implemented in spring 2012, includes annual assessments for reading and mathematics, grades 3–8, writing at grades 4 and 7, science at grades 5 and 8, social studies at grade 8, end-of-course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S History.

2020-2021 STAAR Testing Schedule:
Testing dates are for online testing, paper/pencil dates may differ.
