Congratulations to Coach Christa Carrasco, the high school varsity softball coaching staff, and our Mighty Cardinal Varsity Girls Softball team for making the playoffs! Our Lady Cardinals take on MacArthur High School Wednesday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. at the NEISD Softball Field.

Three talented Southside High School AP ART students were recognized at the Battle of Flowers Cover Art Contest reception. Casandra Cantu (not pictured), Allyson Cruz  and Ana Coronilla’s individual art work was recognized for being ranked among the top 30 designs out of over 220 plus entries. We are proud of the accomplishments these ladies have made and look forward to future successes.

The Southside High School Red Jackets Dance Team will be hosting three dance clinics in April for middle school and elementary students! $25.00 provides your dancer with a commemorative t-shirt, the dance clinic which will include dance techniques, a routine, and an invitation to dance in the stands with the Red Jackets at a football game in the Fall. Last weekend, 14 creative and talented Southside High School art students attended the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event. They were interviewed about their artwork and the aesthetic choices they made. Then they are graded on a scale of 1-4, 4 being the highest. With hundreds of students across San Antonio, all 14 Southside students who attended received a gold medal rating of a 4. Out of all the work gold medal work our senior Allyson Cruz’s piece “Tea Party” will be advancing to the State level event!

The Southside High School UIL One Act Play team competed at the District 28-5A contest Tuesday, March 7th at Medina Valley High School. For the 7th time in the last 9 years, our cast & crew of the play “She Kills Monsters” advanced to Bi-District.
