Mrs. Cervantes is a PK-4 teacher who is new to MECC, but not to SISD. She is dedicated and knowledgeable, and she gladly pours all of her knowledge and expertise for the better education of children.

Avianna is just an amazing Scholar at MECC. From Day 1, she has displayed Cardinal Character Traits. She never falters in doing her very best. I am so proud of how she always tries to do her best and help classmates do their best. I have so enjoyed you in class. You are AMAZING AVIANNA!!!

Cardinal Spotlight: May 23rd

Mr. Mendoza was new to MECC back in September as one of our amazing Assistant Principals. He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and a growth mindset. He has excellent interpersonal skills and interacts with students, parents, teachers, school staff, and district employees on a daily basis. As a leader of the campus, he makes sure there are plenty of opportunities for teachers  to help improve their practice, which helps children learn and grow. Along with the rest of the administrative team, he has quickly gotten involved in building a strong staff culture. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Mendoza!

Heidi works hard at home to complete her homework consistently and has really grown and shown improvement. She loves to dance and is learning to talk about what she needs and wants. I am so proud of her.

Irma Leal is one of Menchaca’s newest PK-3 teachers. Prior to getting her degree, Ms. Leal was an early childhood instructional assistant for many years and she brings a wealth of knowledge to her new position. Ms. Leal has done a great job creating an inviting and age appropriate learning environment for her young scholars. Her positive redirection and behavior approach with her students is indicative of her professional, nurturing, and caring personality. Ms. Leal incorporates a lot of hands-on activities that really engage her students in the learning process. When teaching new concepts, she also understands the importance of movement and song and regularly incorporates them into her lessons. Her strong early childhood instructional background is evident and Menchaca is excited to have her on our team!

Jordyn Loza is outspoken and brings real world examples to class discussions. She is always on the lookout for others. Jordyn tries her hardest each and every day. She comes into class with a big smile and you can always count on her to make you laugh!
