Cardinal Spotlight Week of May 24th: Menchaca Early Childhood Center
Malaya Banner is a Rockstar Student!! She is ready and prepared daily and always on task. Malaya makes sure to follow all school and class rules no matter what she is doing. Malaya is a great role model to her peers and great helper to classmates and teachers. Congratulations Malaya for making student of the week for the 3rd time this year!!
Silvia Rivera Torres is our new kindergarten receptionist and is already making a huge difference on our campus. She has jumped right in taking initiative and greeting families with exceptional customer service. Silvia steps up and serves any and all providing support in other areas, too. Her can-do attitude and pleasant demeanor has transformed the service we are able to provide to our families and staff. We are grateful to have her as a member of the Menchaca family.
Cardinal Spotlight Week of May 17th: Menchaca Early Childhood Center
Cortnie is an enthusiastic student who is inquisitive and always eager to respond to the teacher’s questions. She really loves learning, and it shows! She has led the Pledges with pride and loves to dance. Way to go Cortnie! Keep Soaring!
Celena Hernandez is our kindergarten counselor. She meets with students individually and responds to the needs of her students. She has helped celebrate and honor our staff to keep their morale up and operates our school store, Cici’s Corner, every week for students. She is also the lead on our daily morning announcements and helps students take on this leadership role. Mrs. Hernandez loves being a part of the Southside family and enthusiastically shares her upbeat attitude and positive demeanor with all.
PBIS Positive Referrals # 28
As a PBIS school, we have a framework to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes for all students. Part of that is recognizing students with positive referrals. We are proud to share our 28th round of PBIS Positive Referral Recipients from EE, PK, & K.
Cardinal Spotlight Week of May 10th: Menchaca Early Childhood Center
Jaelynn Mendoza
Jaelynn loves to socialize with her classmates and make friends. She enjoys learning and drawing pictures in her journal. Jaelynn has a beautiful smile that lights up the classroom. Jaelynn is working hard learning her letters and numbers so she can be ready for Kindergarten.
Victoria Marsh
Ms. Marsh is a paraprofessional at Menchaca. She is wonderful at what she does. She takes initiative, supports the classroom teacher with creating projects for students to complete, and always has wonderful ideas to share to support students in the classroom and on campus. She is a valuable asset to all she works with by always putting students first. Thank you Ms. Marsh for all you do! Menchaca is lucky to have you.
