Isabel is such a sweet and caring student. She comes to class everyday excited and ready to learn. She is a hard worker and loves to share with the class. It has been such a joy and privilege to have Isabel at Menchaca.. Keep up the amazing work, Isabel. 

Denise Esparza

Ms. Esparza is a Pre-K teacher at Menchaca ECC. She has created a sense of community and belonging in her virtual classroom this school  year. She cares about all her students and  provides a supportive and nurturing environment to assist students to be successful academically, and social/emotionally. She assists not only students, but is also a teacher who can provide expertise to other teachers to assist in the classroom. We appreciate Ms. Esparza and thank her for all she does!

COVID Vaccination Clinic (12 years & up) & Pre-K and K Registration

The Southside Independent School District is hosting a vaccine clinic targeting anyone 12 and older. This clinic is happening as the Centers for Disease Control finds increased hospitalizations for people 12 to 17 and reinforces the need for COVID vaccinations.
Monday, June 7, Menchaca Early Childhood Center, 16180 U.S. Highway 281 South, 8 am to Noon, walk-up vaccine clinic. The American Heart Association offers fun cooking demonstrations, discount coupons for food, and you can register your children to attend Pre-K and Kindergarten. 

Field Day Fun! (PK – 6/2) (K – 6/3)

We are excited to announce that Field Day is coming to Menchaca Early Childhood Center! Our young scholars have worked so hard this school year and now it is time to have a little bit of fun!

Where: Menchaca Early Childhood Center 

When: June 2, 2021 (Pre-K) June 3, 2021 (Kindergarten)

Time: 8:00 am-10:45 am 

Lunch Times: 11:00-11:30 am & 11:15:-11:45 am (PK) 11:15-11:45 am & 11:45:-12:15 am (Kinder)

Field Day will be divided into eight different stations. Each class will stay at a station for 20 minutes then rotate through all the stations. The activities will take place in the gym and outside from 8:00 am to 10:40 am. Some activities will involve water, paint, and games, so please have your child wear comfortable running shoes, clothing that may get wet, and appropriate for outdoor physical activity. I also suggest sending your child with an extra shirt, a pair of shorts, shoes, and a towel. Please apply bug spray and sunscreen at home before school. Due to Covid, we will not be asking for volunteers this year, but hopefully we will see you at next year’s Field Day. Thank you for your understanding and support! We are looking forward to having Fun in the Sun on Field Day!

Cardinal Spotlight Week of May 31st: Menchaca Early Childhood Center

Noah Aguilera Martinez is a student who is always ready and willing to get right to work. Noah is responsible and respectful during lessons and to his teachers and peers. Noah loves to learn and participates daily. Not only is he a great student, Noah has a compassionate heart. Way to Go Noah For being our Student of the Week once again!!!
Rita Martinez is our newest member of the Menchaca family as an employee, but she’s been a family member as a parent from the start! Rita exuberantly greets families, provides exceptional customer service, and makes the calls or runs the errands to keep classrooms functional. She’s able to connect and relate to families as a parent while sharing the necessary information to reassure or educate our parents. Our campus is better because of the friendly greeting and hard working ethic Rita provides our campus and families.
