In addition to all this, she always greets everyone with a smile and has such a positive attitude. Thank you for joining our team and making a difference. Heritage is proud to recognize 1st grader, Juliana Saldaña, as our Cardinal Spotlight this week. She comes to school with a positive attitude and is enthusiastic to learn. This week’s staff spotlight for Heritage Elementary is our fabulous counselor, Alicea Campos. She is a kind and generous person to all things living. Our students and staff are fortunate to be able to go to her whenever we need someone to talk to or help with any particular situation. She is also known for stopping and rescuing dogs on the side of the highway in the middle of a rainstorm. Mrs. Campos works with our parents and community, as well as our social worker, to be sure students and their families’ needs are being met. All this, and she still finds time to do lessons with classes and deliver the Cardinal Cash Cart to all the rooms. Your patient way and easy smile is something that brightens the day for all of us. Thank you for all you do!
The Heritage Student Spotlight this week is 2nd grader, Edmundo Antunez. He is the kind of student that might not draw your immediate attention because he is quiet, until he gets to know you; and when it’s time to work, he just focuses on his work. Edmundo loves to read and it shows in his reading scores. He is also very skilled in math and likes the other subjects as well. His fellow students turn to him for help when they are struggling and Edmundo is always happy to assist them. In his spare time he enjoys cars and writing. Congratulations Edmundo, we can’t wait to see what great things you do in the future!

Students and staff love her daily stories of crazy things that always seem to happen in her life. Mrs. Messer encourages her students to read and succeed in many ways. One way is by immersing them in a world of Harry Potter in her classroom. She loves animals and has many different kinds ranging from chickens and dogs to horses. We are so happy you joined our team!

Outside of school he stays active playing football for his team, the Outlaws. Congratulations Noah!

This week’s Staff Spotlight is a brand new fabulous 2nd grade teacher named Dena Jennings. She started in October with an already established class and she hasn’t looked back. Students love her and so does her team. Ms. Jennings is full of energy and fresh ideas. With her arms full of stuff, she is the first to arrive in the morning; always with a smile and a positive attitude. While many would find it overwhelming to start the year so late, she enjoys the challenge and absolutely loves her students. If you ask her about her class, she will go on and on about how amazing and smart they all are. Thank you for joining our team, you’re a superstar!
