Cardinal Spotlight Week of September 7: Heritage Elementary School

This week’s spotlight for Heritage Elementary is Claudia Herrera, and 2nd-grade student, Aubri Sanchez. 

Claudia Herrera serves as our PE assistant. In addition to her PE duties, she also tutors students throughout the day.  She truly is a team player. Claudia is very supportive of her colleagues and of the Heritage community. She goes above and beyond to support school-wide events and activities. Claudia is the mother of three Southside ISD children. Her oldest child just graduated from Southside High School this year.  

Aubri is a hard-working, sweet 2nd-grade student at Heritage Elementary.  Ready with a quick smile and an eagerness to learn, she is a fun-loving addition to any classroom. It’s been a pleasure watching her grow through the grades, she has grown to love school and we love having her here!

Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 28: Heritage Elementary School

This week’s spotlight for Heritage Elementary is Sylvia Rodriguez.  Sylvia is starting her ninth year working for Southside ISD.  Sylvia started working as a custodian for the district.  Now she serves as our instructional paraprofessional. She has found her true passion!  She loves supporting our teachers and students.  Sylvia is a joy to work with and is an essential part of the Heritage team.

Camila Romero is a very dedicated third-grade student.  She completes all her assignments and homework on time.  She loves helping her friends and always has a smile on her face.  Camilla makes her teachers and family very proud.

Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 21: Heritage Elementary School

Belinda Jasso is a 5th grade teacher. She has worked at Heritage since the school opened in the fall of 1999. Belinda is such a dedicated teacher!  She is one of the first teachers to arrive at work and usually one of the last ones to leave each evening. Her favorite subjects to teach are Math and Science. Back in 2011, she started the Heritage Robotics program. In 2018, she was awarded a grant from the Southside ISD Foundation for new Robotics kits. Belinda also serves as the Team Lead teacher for her grade level  and is the Gifted and Talented Facilitator for the campus. 

Jaciella Flores is a caring, thoughtful, and loving student and friend. She is funny and likes to play pranks on her siblings. Jaciella loves school and being a hard worker! She enjoys distance learning and her virtual class. Jaciella has always been studious at everything she does!   

Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 14: Heritage Elementary School

Joey Martinez has worked for Southside ISD for 10 years.  Before becoming an Assistant Principal, he taught 6th grade Science. Joey has an outgoing and cheerful personality.  He is NEVER in a bad mood.  He takes on challenges with a positive attitude and an open mind.  Music is his passion and his hobby.  He is a Grammy and a Latin Grammy Nominee. 


Diego Tamez is now a 4th grader! YAY!  As a 3rd grader, Diego worked very diligently all year long, especially during our last 9 weeks of virtual learning.  He made sure his work was complete and submitted when due.  He also supported Heritage Elementary during our school parade.  The love he has for learning and our school shows in all his actions.  He will most definitely be successful in all his studies this new school year!  A special thank you to his parents for always supporting him.  Way to go, Diego!

 
 

Cardinal Spotlight Week of August 7: Heritage Elementary School

Rachal Ramirez teaches 4th grade.  She will be starting her 5th year at Heritage. Rachal is a loving, patient, and nurturing individual.  She always brings out the best in her students by building strong, trusting relationships with them.  She was part of the team of teachers that was awarded a grant from SAWS for our outdoor learning area. Rachal is a member of the SAWS CORE educator group. 

 

Caleb Traeger will be in fourth grade for the 2020-2021 school year. He is an outstanding student with a strong work ethic. His favorite subject is Mathematics. Caleb is always eager to learn new things and is always prepared for class. When Caleb is not studying, he is spending his time playing basketball with his brother and gaming with his friends.

 
 

Cardinal Spotlight Week of July 24: Heritage Elementary School

This week’s spotlight for Heritage Elementary is Mario Bustamante and student, Faith De La Fuente. Mario serves as our morning custodian. He always arrives bright and early with a smile on his face. He is always in a cheerful mood and goes above and beyond for our students and our staff members. Mario is a team player and a dedicated employee.

Faith is an enthusiastic learner who loves school. She exhibits a positive attitude and outlook in and out of the classroom. Faith strived to reach her full potential during the COVID-19 at home learning in the spring. She will be a 4th grade student this coming school year. Faith is an AWESOME and AMAZING individual!
