This week’s Cardinal Staff Spotlight for Heritage is Stacy Galvan. Ms. Galvan is new to Heritage this school year. She serves as our Dyslexia Therapist. You may have seen her at our Trunk or Treat event; she was painted in rainbow stripes after the book character in, A Bad Case of Stripes. Ms. Galvan is a joy to work with. She has a positive attitude and is always willing to help a colleague and support our campus. We are grateful for her and our students love her. This week’s spotlight belongs to 3rd grade student, Daniel Branch. He is an amazing student who aims for mastery in all academic areas. Daniel makes sure to double check all his work before presenting it to his teacher. He is quiet and thoughtful, but always paying attention. Thank you Daniel for being a role model to other 3rd graders and congratulations on being our Cardinal of the Week!

Cardinal Spotlight 11/15/2021
Heritage’s staff Spotlight this week is Alexia Hall. Mrs. Hall previously worked at Heritage as a Resource teacher and then left the district for three years. We were fortunate that she returned to Heritage this year. Mrs. Hall serves as one of our LID teachers. She has a heart of gold and treats everyone with respect. We love her positivity and warm smile. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Hall as part of our team.
This week’s Student Spotlight is 3rd grade student, Aaliyah Pesina. Aaliyah always comes to school with a positive attitude, prepared and ready to learn. She is always willing to help her classmates. Aaliyah enjoys reading comic and chapter books. On the weekends, she enjoys going out to eat with her family. Keep up the great work Aaliyah and congratulations on being our Cardinal of the Week!
Cardinal Spotlight 11/8/2021
Heritage’s staff Spotlight this week is 1st grade teacher, Karen Tapia. She is new to the Heritage Team this year, but it feels like she has been a part of the family for awhile. Ms. Tapia is dedicated to teaching and brings a fresh perspective to her team. Personally, she is also driven, holding herself to high standards just as she does her students. She builds relationships with her students by being kind and patient with them. Ms. Tapia encourages them to be individuals and find humor and positivity in life. Thank you for all you do!
Our Student Spotlight this week is 3rd grade student, Dominick Delgado. Dominick is always ready to learn and share what he knows. He loves all things science and math and loves leading science experiments when given the opportunity. He enjoys making his friends laugh, and having fun. He is always willing to help students learn and loves knowing that students enjoy his teaching. If you ever need to know anything, about anything, he’s your guy!
Cardinal Spotlight 11/1/21
This week’s Staff Spotlight is our LSSP, Ms. Adriana Berumen. She has been with our district for eleven years. She works with our students and with students from Freedom Elementary School. Ms. Berumen is kind and patient with the students and one of the easiest people to get along with. We are so grateful she gets to spend part of her time with us. Thanks for being an awesome member of Team Heritage!
Our Student Spotlight this week is Danika Vazquez-Benavidez, an outstanding 4th grade student! She is always exceeding expectations in all classes. Danika shows that she loves Science and Math by participating in school activities, such as the Academic Bowl STEAM Competitions and the Summer STEAM Academy. Way to go, Danika! Keep up the good work and good luck the rest of the school year!
Cardinal Spotlight 10/25/21
The Heritage staff Cardinal Spotlight is Angelica Lopez Vences. Angelica serves as our morning custodian. She is one of the first to arrive daily and we are all better for it as she greets everyone with a smile and happily prepares the school for the day. Angie, as she is known, is also a proud Southside parent and member of our community. Thank you for all you do for our students and our staff!
This week’s Student Spotlight is 4th grader, Lucia Perez. She is always on time and ready to start her day on a positive note. Lucia is the kind of student that is liked by her fellow classmates because she is kind and eager to help anyone that needs it. She gives 100% to her work and proudly shows what she’s done and accomplished. We are so proud of you Lucia, way to be a part of Team Heritage!
Cardinal Spotlight 10/19/21
Mrs. Puente and her team have the highest assessment scores compared to the other elementary campuses. Mrs. Puente is very competitive and wants to be prepared for everything that is requested of Heritage. When something is asked of her she is quick to deliver. Heritage took 3rd place in the Hallway Decoration contest. She is a hard worker and goes above and beyond what is asked of her. Her staff follow her example by working hard in all of the district initiatives. Keep up the great work Mrs. Puente!
This week’s Student Spotlight is 5th grade student, Miley Saenz. Miley is such a good friend to her classmates. She completes all assignments and projects on time. Miley is always trying really hard and always puts in her best effort. She is here at school on a daily basis ready to give her all! Miley, congratulations on being our Cardinal of the Week!
