( San Antonio, TX) – The Southside High School varsity football team dominated their competition this year. For the first time in Southside history, the Fighting Cardinals are back-to-back district champs. The Cardinals are now a shoo-in for the playoffs and possibly looking at home-field advantage with a 7-0 record in district play. Southside has one district game left before the playoffs, where they will take on C.C. Winn High School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd, at the Cozel Foster Veterans Memorial Stadium. You can be ready in spirit gear with the newly designed play-off shirts.
When asked about the upcoming playoffs, Head Coach Ricky Lock said, “ I am proud of this team. How far we go in the playoffs will depend on matchups and injuries, but we’ll prepare accordingly… in the end, this team has a lot to be proud of. ” We wish our Mighty Cardinal Football team good luck and can’t wait to see them soar to victory!
The playoff schedule will be released on or after Saturday, November 4th.
