Inspiration, motivation and unity were at the heart of the 2023-2024 Convocation event that took place Friday, August 4th, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
Superintendent Rolando Ramirez inspired those in attendance with a video production that showed Southside ISD as the new A-Team determined to become an “A” rated district and presented a new motto, Together Everyone Achieves More also in attendace were Southside ISD Board of Trustees and Education Foundation Board of directors.
About a thousand Southside ISD employees attended and participated in the tradition of Southside’s Spirit comradery. Primary and Secondary campuses faced off in a battle of Finish the Lyrics and a video competition to show which group had the most Southside Spirit. Celebrity guest judges Kym’s Angels (Kym Rapier) Yolanda Valenzuela, KSAT 12 News anchor Stephanie Serna, and KENS 5 & Kens5.com anchor Isis Romero voted in favor of the elementary campuses as the winners. The Cardinal staff is geared up and ready for another successful school year! Thanks to HEB Communication for the teachers’ gift baskets given during the drawings and to Spurs Sports and Entertainment.
