Southside ISD Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez honors San Antonio Food Bank CEO Eric Cooper at the District’s Kym Rapier Food Pantry.

Over the past year, the San Antonio Food Bank has helped provide food to more than 30,000 people in the Southside Independent School District. To show its appreciation, Superintendent of Schools Mr. Rolando Ramirez honored the San Antonio Food Bank and presented a custom-made plaque to Food Bank CEO Eric Cooper.

“It’s a huge positive impact that the Food Bank has on our families. Families are looking forward to the distributions and we’re grateful to the Food Bank for providing this assistance to our families,” said Superintendent Ramirez.

The Food Bank’s Eric Cooper credited volunteers, staff, and supporters of the Food Bank for making food distributions possible.

“A huge congratulations to Southside Independent School District for their commitment to education, but also going beyond the classroom to make sure their families get nourishment of mind and body,” Cooper said.

Food distributions at the District’s Kym Rapier Food Pantry are held at 9:00 a.m. every second and fourth Saturday of each month. Pre-registration is mandatory.
