Southside ISD 2nd Annual Spanish Spelling Bee

(San Antonio, TX) – It’s all the BUZZ! The SISD Spanish Spelling Bee is open to both English and Spanish speaking students. This is an event that helps support our ESL (English as a Second Language) and Dual language programs. There are three areas SISD wants to showcase and grow, they are bilingualism, biculturalism, and biliteracy.
This year we had more than hundred students compete. On Nov. 28th we will be featuring the top 5 from the elementary. Our secondary schools will be competing as well. The winners will be eligible to compete in the Region 20 Spanish Spelling Bee Feb. 3rd2018 sponsored by Univision.
The Categories are 3rd -5th, 6th – 8th and 9th – 12th.
The event is free and open to the public.
This event is a proud event for Southside ISD as we aim to lead the state in these programs. Our Soaring to Excellence brand is about creating a future of extraordinary students and leaders.
