As a result of winning the district 5-A championship out right, Texas Football named the Southside High School Cardinals the Army Values School of the Week. Members of the United States Army will be present during the pep rally at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17 in the old high school gymnasium. Members of the public are invited to attend.
Additionally, the Lady Cardinals Volleyball team placed 3rd in the playoffs. They were ultimately beat by Gregory Portland High School.
Lastly, the boys cross country team are also the district champions. Rene Hernandez qualified for the state cross country meet for the 3rd consecutive year.
