All Southside ISD students are eligible to participate in a district-wide Patriotic & Freedom Celebration Art Contest. Last day to turn in your art work is Friday October 27. Winners will be announced via the SISD website November 17 . Winning art work will be put on the SISD website and in the SISD Board Room. The grand prize winner’s art work will be used for the Southside ISD 2018 Fiesta medal.
All artwork must be two-dimensional, on 8″x11″ paper or canvas. It may be done with crayons, watercolor, paints, colored pencils, pen-and- ink, and more. Artwork depicting an American Flag or Texas Flag must conform to the red, white, and blue colors, and stars and stripes.
Judging will be based on originality and how the image related to patriotism. The total impact of the work and its uniqueness will also be taken into consideration.
Elementary student participants will submit their artwork to their primary teacher. All secondary students will submit their artwork through their art teacher or social studies teacher. One winner will be chosen from each SISD campus. Of the seven winners, one will be selected as the grand-prize winner.
