Melisa Arredondo came to SISD in 2011 as a Texas Peace Officer and in 2016 attended Teachworthy, where she received her Texas Teacher Certification in Industrial Trades/Law Enforcement. Arredondo teaches the culture of Law Enforcement in her classroom from the Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedures, Education Code, Mock Trials and so much more. Arredondo runs an after school Public Safety Cadet/Explorer Program where she is the instructor teaching students interested in Law Enforcement in depth look at what the job entails and prepares her students for their two competitions every school year. Arredondo runs a Practicum in Law & Career Readiness Program for seniors that includes a non-pay internship working in the district.
Arredondo loves her students and law cadets and it is not uncommon to see her late on campus training building search, felony stop and other tactics and snapping group selfies with her students. We truly appreciate Ms. Arredondo’s support for our students.
Our wonderful Cardinal Analyssa Casas is a senior who participates in National Honor Society, school fundraising, and regularly attends the Foodbank to assist our local community. Her passion to want to help others derives from the teachers who have guided her throughout the years with their help and different techniques to better understand a situation. Analyssa is an open minded student with a positive attitude who is determined to achieve her goals. We are proud to have Analyssa as part of the Cardinal family.
