Mr. Rudy Ramirez has been a proud cardinal for the last 16 years. SHS is very lucky to have such a powerhouse of historical knowledge! As President of the Southside chapter of TSTA, Mr. Ramirez supports all teachers and staff at SISD and fights relentlessly on their behalf when the need arises. Mr. Ramirez is currently the sponsor of the Sophomore class and has sponsored many classes throughout his tenure at SHS. Mr. Ramirez is spearheading a new special studies elective at SHS, Mexican American Studies and hopes to build capacity within the program to extend student learning to local archeological studies currently happening within the Southside community, specifically focusing on the Battle of Medina.
Angelina Rodriguez is a phenomenal well-rounded Senior. Her accolades include: National Honor Society Treasurer, Health Occupation Students of America Vice President, Softball Varsity athlete, a certified Patient Care Technician who works at the Southside ISD clinic, a coach to youth softball travel teams, and volunteers at her church. She is a very busy young lady but maintains a high scholastic GPA. Her plans after high school include majoring in nursing and later becoming a travel nurse. She currently has pending scholarship offers from Columbia College in South Carolina and Oklahoma Wesleyan University. You can always find Angelina around school with a smile on her face. Angelina is a student her teachers can count on and know that she will complete any task needed of her.
