Around the World Visit from Kyrgyzstan

November 20, 2024 by aspicer

Around the World Visit from Kyrgyzstan

Today, our cultural knowledge was expanded by a visit from special guests from around the world. 🌎 Foreign Exchange students from different parts of the world, including Switzerland 🇨🇭 , Germany 🇩🇪 , and Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 visited Losoya Middle School on Tuesday, November 19 to put on a presentation to help our students learn about Kyrgyzstan. 🇰🇬
Our students learned about the history, cultural symbols, folklore, music, art, and dance of the people of Kyrgyzstan. Everyone learned a basic dance 💃 🕺 and were treated to an awesome performance of the traditional Kyrgyz instrument 🎺 called the Komuz.👍👊

StuCo Pie in the Face Fundraiser

November 14, 2024 by aspicer

Please join the Losoya Student Council in our charity fundraiser to support our community members who have to deal with Diabetes. Diabetes is a medical condition that impacts millions around the world, including our own community members and family members. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and the Losoya Student Council has chosen to raise funds to donate to the American Diabetes Association.
For the next week, Nov 18-22, before school and during lunch, students and staff can contribute to the contest being held. Two staff members from each department have volunteered to have whipped cream pies thrown at them in front of the entire school on Friday, November 22. If they have the most donations within their department, they will have pies thrown at them!
Students and staff, please bring your loose change and contribute to the staff members you think should have pies thrown at them! Donations will be accepted in the cafeteria at the stage.
