Mavianee is a rising 8th grader at Losoya Middle School. She is a visible presence on our campus as she participates in Theater, Band, National Junior Honor Society and Student Council–she seems to do it all. She maintains great daily attendance and is an A honor roll student. In addition, if you visit during morning announcements, you will catch the morning crew show that also stars Mavianee. We look forward to seeing all the future success that is in store for Mavianee, another fine example of a soaring Losoya Cardinal.

National Junior Honor Society Gives Back!
National Junior Honor Society helps behind the scenes. We love our NJHS – moving and helping in their quiet humble ways. Under the sponsorship of Mr. Knox, these future community leaders are doing so much good. Mr. Knox will be taking a group of these amazing kiddos to help setup and decorate for the city-wide Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner. We are thankful for these amazing kiddos and their sponsor.
LMS Shines at Southside ISD Feast of Giving
Band, Choir, Theater : all entertained their hearts out at the second annual Feast of Giving, last night. We hope you were able to see some of our amazing students perform as you feasted on an amazing turkey dinner. This was certainly a Southside Community effort with all hands on deck. Nice job, LMS!
LMS Theater Production : Tales from the Nest – Coming Soon!
LMS Football Stars!
Watch out football fans… here come two names you will want to remember. 7th Grader – Jonathan Soto – is leading quarterback for LMS! He loves both soccer and football just like his older brother who played for Southside HS. Grades are important especially in sports and Jonathan is in all Advanced classes and maintains A and B averages by always trying his best in class. His favorite class is Math with Mr. Knox. Jonathan says math has always come easily to him and he has never struggled with understanding it. Before a game, Jonathan focuses only on himself and keeps his mind on the game. He would love to play professional soccer or football one day – but a career in math or medicine might be in his future too.
Noah Reyes is LMS’ leading 8th grade quarterback. Noah has an older brother who played Southside HS football and is following in his footsteps. But Noah also loves basketball and baseball. Noah, like Jonathan, is in all advanced classes and he knows the importance of making good grades and keeping his grades at an A or B average. If he feels he needs to make more effort, he will study at home to ensure he makes great grades. Right now his favorite subject is science with Ms. Tovar. Noah admits that it is easy to get nervous before a big game, so he thinks only of the game and what plays he will be making to push the nerves away. A professional football career would be awesome, but firefighting like one of his brothers would be a possible career choice too.
LMS is proud these two athletes represent us so well!
