Freedom would like to give a great big Texas size THANK YOU to ExxonMobil for their support and generosity. ExxonMobil presented Freedom Elementary with a grant in the amount of $500 as part of their Education Alliance Program. ExxonMobil values education and gives out over 300 grants a year to Texas schools. We are grateful to have such amazing partners in our community.

Fiesta Medal Contest
Congratulations to Freedom 4th grade student, Jessica Martinez, who entered the Southside ISD 2020 Fiesta Medal Contest and was tied for 2nd Place! Way to go, Jessica! We are so proud of you!
Pennies for Patients 2019
Congratulations to Mrs. Valle’s 4th grade class for being the winner of the Pennies for Patients contest! Mrs. Valle’s class donated the most money to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients campaign this year, and as a reward for donating the most money, Olive Garden restaurant treated the whole class to a spaghetti and meatball lunch! Supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a long-held tradition here at Freedom. This is Freedom’s 11th year participating, and we’ve donated over $9,000.00 to them!
Ugly Sweater Contest!
Freedom teachers and staff enjoyed dressing up for our annual Ugly Sweater Contest. The winner was Miss Perez, 5th grade teacher, who wore a sweater which included lights, wreaths, and even a tree skirt! The runners up were Ms. K. Dowell who sported a “deer” sweater, and Nurse Cruz, who wore a very cute tree-adorned sweater. Thank you to all who participated!! Merry Christmas, everyone!
Freedom Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer at the Airport!
Mr. Villarreal, Freedom music teacher, took almost 80 members of his choir to perform at the San Antonio International Airport this past week. The choir welcomed passengers as they arrived in the Alamo City by singing Christmas carols and other holiday songs. They did a great job, and we are so very proud of them!
Winter Break Dates
Freedom Elementary will be closed for the Winter Break beginning December 19, 2019 and will reopen on January 6, 2020. There will be no school for students on December 20th, 2019. Happy Holidays!
Students will be released on December 19th, 2019 at the regularly scheduled times.
