Southside High School Senior Signs to Play Softball at Dallas Christian College
Congratulations to Southside High School Senior Jessilynn Zocher who signed to play softball at Dallas Christian College. Jessilynn Zocher is a four-year Southside High School Softball starter. Jess is a great student-athlete who has devoted a lot of her time and effort to making Southside Softball successful. Jess has mainly pitched for the Cardinals but has also showcased her skills in the outfield when she’s not on the mound. Jess is going to continue this excellence on the field for Dallas Christian next fall. We are extremely excited and proud of Jess and wish her nothing but the best as she represents Southside proudly throughout her college career.
Metal Detectors at All SISD Athletic Events
Cardinal Nation,
In October, the SISD Board of Trustees voted to allow metal detectors at SHS athletic events. After researching and conducting community surveys, administrators presented options for metal detectors as a part of the district-wide safety and security initiatives. Metal detectors are part of several ongoing initiatives to keep all staff and students safe. The current approval will only affect Athletic Facilities (SHS Stadium, Gyms, and the baseball/softball field).
