Southside High School’s Emarald Aguirre Shines at State Meet!
Southside High School proudly celebrates Emarald Aguirre for qualifying for the state cross country meet for the second year in a row. She was honored with a district escort as she set out to compete, with her former campus, Matthey Middle School, joining in the celebration. Emarald placed 25th overall, a remarkable improvement from last year’s 60th-place finish. The Southside ISD community couldn’t be prouder — congratulations, Emarald! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.

Southside Cardinals Earn Third Team of the Week Nomination After Win Over Southwest Legacy
Congratulations to Coach Lock, the Southside High School football coaching staff, and our mighty Cardinal Football Team for their thrilling 19–14 victory over Southwest Legacy this past Friday night! 🏈
For the third time this season, Southside has been nominated for Team of the Week — an outstanding achievement that reflects the team’s hard work, determination, and community pride.

Southside High School’s Emarald Aguirre Qualifies for State as Cardinal Cross Country Competes at Regionals
On Monday, October 21st, the Southside Cardinal Cross Country Team competed at the Regional Meet in Corpus Christi, showcasing incredible effort and determination from start to finish.
Leading the way, Emarald Aguirre finished an impressive 13th out of 188 runners, earning her spot at the State Championship in Round Rock. She will compete on Friday, October 31st, at 9:30 a.m. Her teammates and coaches are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck in her final race of the 2025 season.
Our Varsity Girls Team also had a strong showing, placing 14th overall out of 24 teams—a remarkable improvement from last year’s 18th-place finish.
Running in the tough mid-morning heat, Kalub Flores represented Southside with heart and determination, finishing 150th out of 189 runners.
We are proud of all our athletes for their hard work, perseverance, and the outstanding way they represented Southside ISD this season.
