On Tuesday, October 22, the Southside High School Varsity Girls Cross Country competed in the Region IV Regional Meet in Corpus Christi. Racing against a field of 183 runners SHS cross country team showcased their determination and resilience, finishing 18th out of 25 teams and outperforming several nearby competitors. A special congratulations to freshman, Emarald Aguirre, who placed 20th overall and earned her spot at the State Championship Meet on November 2nd at 10:45 a.m. in Round Rock, Texas.

Southside Varsity Girls Cross Country Team Wins District Championship
Congratulations to the Southside High School Varsity Girls Cross Country team for winning the District Team Championship today! Our talented girls clinched the 28-5A District Championship and are advancing to regionals. They’ll be heading to Corpus Christi on October 22nd to compete in the UIL 5A Regional Cross Country Meet.

Emarald Aguirre, Gabrielle Carreon, Ariana Carreon, Itzel Chavez, Jasslyne Rodriguez, Bethany Iniguez-Morales, and Kimberly Rubio.

Southside High School Girls Powerlifting Heading to State
Big congratulations to our Girls’ Powerlifting team for their outstanding achievement in qualifying for State! A special shoutout to our incredible athletes: Madison Melendez, Zoe Amador, Evelynn Baer, Tarum Cabrera, and Penelope Tirado. Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off! The state meet will take place in Frisco, Texas on March 16th.

The Track and Field meet scheduled for Thursday, February 15th has been changed to Wednesday, February 14th per South San ISD.
