Southside High School’s Welding Team Takes on State Competition

This Southside High School Welding had two groups competing at the State level in the Job Exhibit category on April 4th-7th. Each group fabricated amazing projects to be judged at the State Level. The group consisting of Maximus Polendo (Senior) Branden Intakeo (Senior) Israel Garcia (Senior) Fabricated/Welded an amazing Western-themed octagon BBQ Pit. This project scored 385 out of 400 at the state level, and was awarded the Superior State ribbon! The group consisted of Joshua Aguirre (Junior) John Duron (Junior) Marcus Garcia (Junior) Angel Alvarez (Senior) the group fabricated/welded a Root Opening Hog Trap with extra features, Built-in feeder, and custom steps. The group scored excellent as well with a 360 out of 400! Which also earned them the Superior State ribbon! Overall these groups of students scored in the Tier 1 range of projects! The students showed amazing determination, dedication, and hard work! Words can describe how proud we are of them!
