Southside ISD new teachers to earn highest pay in San Antonio at $61,777

(San Antonio, TX) — Southside ISD is once again offering the highest starting teacher salary of any school district in the San Antonio area. The Southside ISD Board of Trustees on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 voted to raise new teacher salaries to $61,777. “Our high salaries allow us to recruit and retain the best teachers in Texas. Our teachers are doing an excellent job educating our students and I think we should pay them their weight in gold,” said Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez. The district strives for all positions to be among the top three highest paid of Bexar County school districts. The new salary is an increase of $2,642 raising the starting teacher’s salary to $61,777. The new teacher pay scale is in effect for the 2023-2024 school year. All professional staff will receive a salary increase of $2642 while auxiliary staff will receive a salary boost of $2320. Southside ISD students return to school on Monday, August 14^th. Southside is anticipating record-breaking enrollment for the second consecutive year to an estimated 6,000 students.
