The American Heart Association in San Antonio stepped up to support students in the Southside ISD following a series of TV news reports. Reporters from KSAT 12 News and Spectrum News reported on Menchaca Early Childhood Center’s Teddy Bear CPR classes for kindergarten students. The American Heart Association’s Gina Juarez donated CPR in Schools kits. The kits can teach the life-saving technique to students ages nine and older. The AHA also donated CPR Anytime kits which include an inflatable mannequin, DVDs, and are bilingual. The donation totaled more than $3400.
