Record-breaking number of Southside High School seniors earn Associates’ Degrees

As families and friends cheered, canons fired confetti and smoke celebrating the largest Early College High School graduating class in Southside High School history. The Early College High School program is free to all qualifying Southside High School students. It gives students an opportunity to now complete a bachelors degree in two years. All together, 62 students earned Associates’ of Arts and Associates’ of Science degrees from Palo Alto College on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum. ECHS administrator Mr. Fernando Garcia says the this year’s class set the standard of excellence for future Southside High school students. “This graduating class has now set a commendable standard for other classes involved in the Early College High School Program to follow, achieve and surpass,” Garcia said. Next, the Southside High School Class of 2023 graduates from high school on Friday, May 26 in the Alamodome.
