GEAR UP Students Visit to Baylor

IMG-0341 (1)

36 GEAR UP students spent their Student Holiday by visiting Baylor University on 11/01/2021. Students learned about the college’s history, academics, and scholarship opportunities. In addition, such exemplary Cardinal VIP behavior was demonstrated when one of Baylor’s computer engineering professors invited our students to return for the inauguration of his STEM lab. GEAR UP students hope to return to Baylor University in the near future to visit the new STEM lab.

Our GEAR UP students also toured the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco, TX the same day. “The Institute was created in 1997 for the purpose of educating school children as well as adults about the economic system that underlies American life. The program uses the soft drink industry as a model to teach students about developing, producing, and marketing products”. Our students learned about the current business model in America and how to pursue a career in production or marketing.
