The Southside Education Association noticed a need for supplies to help volunteers at the District’s Kym Rapier Food Pantry and stepped in to help. The SEA provided a one-thousand dollar sponsorship which will be used to purchase critical supplies. Already, the funds are being used to buy specialized face shields to give food pantry volunteers added protection as a result of COVID-19. “It is an honor to support the Southside ISD Kym Rapier Food Pantry,” said SEA President Mr. Rudy Ramirez.
The SEA said its members are giving back because the community has made their livelihood possible. “The Southside Education Association is deeply concerned and engaged in ensuring our students not only have educational support but the social and emotional support one needs to call each day a success,” Ramirez said.
