Southside ISD students honor 9/11 victims and first responders

Hundreds of Southside ISD students along with their teachers at Heritage Elementary School honored the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Members of the San Antonio Police Department Eagle helicopter team, SAAFE Officers, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bexar County Emergency Services District 6 firefighters joined the students and staff in a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony. A total of 2,977 people were killed when terrorists hijacked four commercial jetliners and crashed them into the World Trade Centers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
