Southside High School senior Jasmine Watkins is the best of the best following a Texas schools-based criminal justice championship. Jasmine won 1st Place and a gold medal at the State SkillsUSA Criminal Justice competition! She competed with students from more than16 other SkillsUSA Texas school districts. Jasmine is now advancing to the SkillsUSA National competition in Atlanta, GA. in June. The very rigorous event focused on knowing all the elements of: Traffic Stop, TCOLE Test, Oral Board Interview, Crisis Intervention, Warrantless Arrest, Officer Down: Stop the Bleed, Report Writing, Crime Scene Collection of Evidence, Chain of Custody, and Courtroom Testimony. Jasmine Watkins is the first Southside ISD student to ever attain is the first SkillsUSA Criminal Justice State Victory. Jasmine plans to enter college and upon graduation plans to become an FBI special agent.
