I’ve been wo
rking with Dual Language high school students for the past 3 years and have enjoyed each and every year. The Dual Language program is like a small family, the students have known and shared classrooms since elementary school. It amazes me how well they collaborate amongst themselves in both academic and social settings. I think it’s important for students to learn in their native language when given the opportunity; it helps them retain their culture and language. Most importantly they will be effective bilingual readers, speakers and writers giving them an advantage in higher education and the workplace.

Llevo 3 años trabajando con alumnos de Bachillerato de Doble Lengua y he disfrutado todos y cada uno de los años. El programa de Doble Lengua es como una pequeña familia, los estudiantes se conocen y comparten las aulas desde la escuela primaria. Me sorprende lo bien que colaboran entre ellos tanto en el ámbito académico como en el social. Creo que es importante que los alumnos aprendan en su lengua materna cuando se les da la oportunidad; les ayuda a conservar su cultura y su lengua. Lo más importante es que serán lectores, hablantes y escritores bilingües eficaces, lo que les dará una ventaja en la educación universida y en el trabajo.
