For the past nine years Freedom Elementary students have participated in Pennies for Patients. This is a fund-raiser that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Every September, out students come together to collect their pennies, bills, and loose change to donate it to this great cause. A few years ago, two of our own Faculty/Staff members who are cancer survivors were our Ambassadors for our campaign.
The class that raised the most money gets lunch from the Olive Garden. In the past nine years, including this year, Freedom has donated a total of $12, 394.64, to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This has become a yearly event since 2009, and it’s a wonderful way for our Students to give to such a wonderful cause.
