Out with the old, In with the new
Freedom is excited to announce the newest addition to our cafeteria. Our child nutrition department received a new serving line that was installed last week. This year is the 20th anniversary of the campus opening and it is a much deserved upgrade for our Freedom Cardinals. Our students can now look forward to sliding their trays through a state of the art serving line. Upgrades include the option to heat or chill plates at the push of a button and is customized with our school logo. The cafeteria staff is very excited to start serving our Freedom Cardinals.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our student leaders were very busy supporting our community this month. Freedom collected non-perishable food items for two weeks. Students made posters to help advertise and once all donations were completed they worked together and made 10 boxes to donate to Freedom Families. For the month of December they are collecting unwrapped toys that will go to our Freedom students. Freedom student leaders are doing a great job supporting our campus and community!
Thousands Feast at Southside ISDs Feast of Giving Event
The SISD Feast of Giving is more than an event it is heart warming and just the kind of community involvement we all need from time to time. From smiling warm faces at the SHS cafeteria commons area to the auditorium stage, thousands of people gathered for a free meal and free entertainment. More than 3100 people from all over the area came to break bread and enjoy some turkey with all the trimmings. The event also featured a stunning display of talent from hundreds of Southside ISD student performers.
Here is a quick snapshot of a great event that we are all grateful for this holiday season: https://photos.app.goo.gl/gXsrZiox59jQe34T9
