This April, we continue our efforts to spread awareness and promote acceptance of the amazing scholars who have autism. Autism is a complex disorder of brain development that is characterized by difficulties in social interaction and communication, and has created enough impact in the global health community to encourage a day and a month of its own, celebrated worldwide by families, schools, and corporations. At Menchaca Early Childhood Center, we are honored to have these superheroes at our school and we will be wearing blue every Tuesday for the month of April. This is only one way we encourage inclusion at our school and to foster and teach the importance of community and embracing differences among our students.
