Last night, Freedom families and friends packed the Southside High School auditorium to watch Freedom music and choir students as they performed “The Nutcracker”. Students were under the direction of music teacher Mr. Francisco Villarreal. Bravo! Mr. V!
The students put on a fine performance as they presented the story of Marie, who receives a nutcracker for Christmas. The nutcracker is magical, and he comes to life to take her on a grand tour of the Kingdom of Sweets, and he also introduces her to many new friends along the way.
The students played the parts of the new friends that Marie meets in the kingdom. They range from Arabian dancers and Russian bakers, to sugar plum fairies and enchanted flowers.
Everyone enjoyed the performance, and had a great time at this Annual Freedom Christmas tradition!
