Southside ISD Virtual Drum Circle

Facilitated by Jorge Ochoa, Occupational Therapist  

Group rhythm making is an excellent way to work on social-emotional skills and have FUN! It addresses focus/attention, following directions/listening skills,  taking turns, motor/sensory skills, self-esteem, stress release, self/impulse control, teamwork, and family bonding.  

Who can participate: Any Southside ISD student (and their family) in special programs who is currently on remote/virtual learning. No musical experience is required. 

When: Wednesday, 2/17/21 & 2/24/21, 2:30-3:00 PM

Any household or homemade supplies can be used: pots, pans, boxes, containers,  buckets, top of the table, empty water bottles (filled with beads, dried beans and/or rice), etc.

¡La creación de ritmos grupales es una excelente manera de trabajar en las habilidades  socioemocionales y divertirse! Aborda el enfoque / atención, seguir instrucciones /  habilidades para escuchar, tomar turnos, habilidades motoras / sensoriales,  autoestima, liberación de estrés, control de uno mismo / impulsos, trabajo en equipo  y lazos familiares. 

Quién puede participar: Cualquier estudiante de Southside ISD (y su familia) en  programas especiales que esté en aprendizaje remoto / virtual. No se requiere  experiencia musical.
