The last day before winter break is usually a cozy and fun pajama day. To prepare for this day and to help ensure that all students have some pajamas to wear, Freedom Elementary has their annual Pajama Tree Program. This was started almost 10 years ago by staff members who had the idea of getting new pajamas for our students that might be in need. Each year, in early December, staff nominate students to receive the gift of pajamas and place a tag on a Christmas tree. These tags are then randomly selected by other staff members from our campus and from Central Office who then go out and purchase and wrap new pajamas for our students. The day before our annual pajama day we call out students to come see what the “Pajama Fairy” has brought them. It is an exciting moment watching the students laugh and smile as they open their new pajamas. It is even more exciting to see our students strutting in their new pajamas on pajama day. This year we gifted close to 50 pairs of pajamas. This is an event that we hope to grow more and more each year.
