  • Academics:
    • The Academic Services Division Leadership and campus teams are working around the clock to gear up for instruction to go out by next Tuesday, March 24th.
    • The IT team is working hard to get laptops and internet connection to all students who are in need. We hope to have students who really need technology outfitted with computers and hot spots (if needed) as soon as possible.
    • Several companies are NOW offering free or discounted wifi. Please share the news with the community. Here are some links:
    • Special Education and Dual Language Departments are working feverishly to offer services to all grade levels. These teams reported today that they will be communicating with parents soon.

    • A new website will launch Sunday, March 22, 2020.
    • Texas Education Agency waived STAAR Test.
  • The SISD Police Department is staffed and helping out all over the district daily.
  • Child Nutrition workers continue to step up to help with meal distribution Monday through Friday. Meals are prepared daily and handed out at noon. For more information on where to find meals got to https://txschools.gov/.
  • Cancellations:
    • Southside HS Prom has been canceled.
    • The March 19th SISD Board Meeting has been canceled.
    • ALL UIL events have been Canceled or Postponed. Click here for a list of Cancelations.
    • All Athletic and Extracurricular Practices at SISD have been canceled.
    • All student trips have been canceled.
While schools are closed all Southside ISD Employees will continue to get paid.
