The Southside ISD Education Foundation (SEF) is proud to announce the 2019 Innovation Grant Winners for Southside Independent School District have been selected. This is a historic year for the Foundation. For the first time, SEF has selected 16 teachers and administrators for Innovation Grants.

Southside ISD Superintendent Mr. Mark E. Eads, Principal Rebecca Herrera, and kindergarten student Aiden Parado officially dedicated Colonel Miguel Menchaca Early Childhood Center on Tuesday, May 28. Following a ribbon-cutting, parents, community members, and future students were given tours of the district’s eighth campus.

Once again, Southside ISD offers free breakfast and lunches to children 18 years and younger. As part of the Texas Department of Agriculture's "Seamless Summer Nutrition Program," Southside ISD campuses hosting summer school programs will offer anyone 18 years old and younger breakfast and lunch free of charge, regardless of ability to pay.

The 2019 -2020 School calendar is now available online. This is what was presented by the DEIC/DOI committee to the Board of Managers and was approved at the May 16th meeting. The 2019-2020 school calendar is always available under the Events tab under District Calendar.

The Witte Museum invited Southside High School freshman to tour the multi-million dollar facility as an end-of-school-year gift. Special thanks to funding from the Harvey Najim Foundation, the staff at the Witte Museum for giving Southside High School students the opportunity to explore the HEB Body Adventure.

The Southside ISD food pantry appealed to the greater San Antonio community for help in May and the response has been tremendous. An estimated one ton of food has been collected for the pantry's summer food drive. The Southside ISD Education Foundation is hosting the event. The tournament is scheduled for July 27-28th and we are in need of a title sponsor or sponsorship at any level (contest basketballs, referees, T-Shirts, bags for participants, contest gift cards, etc...) or any type of promotional items.
