Remote Learning for Schools
SAFELY REOPENING
Southside Independent School District has released its Learn Your Way Plan to Proceed for the return to school in Fall 2020-21. The plan outlines the district’s guidelines.
DISTANCE LEARNING
Student safety and learning are always top priorities in Southside ISD. Beginning Monday August 17, we will be providing instructional lessons for students. These lessons will be provided predominantly through Google Classroom which is accessible through the Google Apps or Clever.
TECH SUPPORT
Southside ISD is committed to assisting our students, parents, and staff in their distance learning efforts during this unprecedented time of school closures. A tech support site has been set up to provide technology-relevant help to ensure a successful distance learning experience for all. Call: (210) 882-1626 or e-mail Tech Support.
PREVENTION, MITIGATION & RESPONSE PROCEDURES
As we plan for returning to school at Southside ISD, we recognize that this will be an unusual school year, but we remain committed to supporting your student’s learning, as well as his or her safety.
HEALTH CLINC - AVAILABLE FOR PHONE VISITS
University Health System(UHS) which operates the Southside ISD Susan Hall Community Health clinic wants parents, teachers, and the community to know its medical team remains available for phone visits. UHS says its staff is available for phone visits, medication refills, etc., despite the COVID-19 pandemic. UHS says the clinic will remain closed until the District reopens. Patients may call the clinic at 210-644-1800 for any medical questions.
COUNSELORS AND SOCIAL WORKERS - MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Southside ISD is committed to providing social and emotional support to students during the time schools are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Students can reach a professional school counselor or social worker through the link below. A member of the counseling team will respond to requests for assistance.
None of these offerings are endorsed by Southside ISD, but are simply options for you and your family to consider to help out with distance learning.
