GEAR UP students visited Baylor University on November 1st. Students learned about the college’s history, academic and available scholarships. We will continue to take advantage of opportunities to educate students on their various postsecondary options.
The Southside High School Mighty Cardinal Band recently competed in the Region 11 UIL marching contest. The band earned “straight 1s”- (the top rating possible from each judge) and
advanced to the area level contest. We congratulate our CARDINALS on this huge accomplishment and sincerely thank the amazing band parents for their continued support. Go band!
Congratulations to 11th grader, Joshua Pena, for earning 1st chair Trumpet in the All Region 11 Mariachi. With this honor, he is eligible to audition for the State Mariachi contest.
We wish him luck at the Region 11 Mariachi Concert on Saturday November 6, 2021 at 5:00pm at Southwest Legacy High School, which will feature 1st and 2nd chair Mariachi students.
Congratulations to our newly inducted members of the Southside High School National Honor Society. The annual induction ceremony was held on Thursday October 14th.
Our NHS members continue to be of service to the district and community, most recently at Pearce assisting with games and activities for the Fall Carnival.
Congratulations to our Southside Choir students who have been chosen to perform with the TMEA Region 11 Choir and to those advancing to the Pre-Area contest.
