Mighty Cardinal Band
Saturday September 11th, 5 students from the SHS Mighty Cardinal Band traveled to Medina Valley High School for the TMEA all-region jazz auditions. We are proud to report that all 5 placed well, including 4 advancing to the area level audition next month to try out for the all state band.

T-Shirts for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Athletic Training Sports Medicine Club will be selling T-shirts for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Today through Monday, September 20th, 2021.
T-shirt Theme: Southside Cardinals Believe there is hope for a cure; Be the hope
Orders will be taken before and after school in the Athletic Training Room.
The Athletic Training Sports Medicine club will be donating part of the proceeds during the pre-game check presentation before the football game on Friday, October 8th, 2021 vs. Southwest.
Southside High School: Back in Action
The 2021-2022 school year is in full swing. Athletics, Fine Arts, CTE, Cheer; you name it. We enjoy seeing our students back on campus learning in the classroom and participating in extra-curricular activities.
The Mighty Cardinal Band has been working hard throughout the summer in preparation for the school year’s activities. It’s GREAT to see the students having fun and representing Southside High School and the community. Good Luck at the upcoming Marching Contest.
1st Annual Career Fair
“GREAT SUCCESS”
Southside High School’s First Annual Career Fair hosted over 20 career-oriented employers. CTE instructors/teachers reached out to high-demand, career-oriented employers within the programs of study taught at Southside High School. Over 200 Southside High School Junior, Senior, and alumni attended. So far at least 10 students scheduled interviews, four students were offered internships, another four received on-the-spot career offers, and it continues…
The employers all related that it was a joy to come out to Southside High School. They were pleased with the career fair and excited with the caliber of students that participated. The integration of technology in creating resumes via QR Codes left employers with a lasting impression of the high-quality students and staff of Southside High School.
The Southside High School Career Fair would not have been a success without the Leadership of Ms. Sance, Southside High School Principal and Mrs. Santos, District CTE Coordinator. The hard work of the dedicated CTE instructors/teachers, the High School Administration, all the staff that assisted their students, the technology department, the advisory committees, and the community that supported this endeavor.
