The Go Center team took 63 juniors and seniors to Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Students learned about the different types of programs and resources, followed by a tour of the campus and a scavenger hunt. We are excited for our Cardinals to follow their plans after high school with college opportunities!

Finance Made Easy: Seniors Take on the Challenge & Educate Pearce 4th-Graders
The 12th-grade Personal Finance students, led by Mrs. Velas, have developed and introduced their very own Intro to Financial Literacy books for Pearce Elementary.
Designed with the 4th graders in mind the high school students tailored content to be easily read and understood by the Pearce kids. Topics included savings accounts, interest rates, taxes, and so much more. The seniors presented their books to the Pearce students in a reading & discussion session where they encouraged critical thinking and comprehension.
This project was created to help foster a sense of responsibility and mentorship as the seniors introduced complicated ideas in a simplified manner.
Thank you Mrs. Vela, Mrs. Brenda Gonzalez and Mrs. Scott for your support of our personal finance program and allowing our seniors the opportunity to engage with their younger peers.
Senior students who participated included: Alyssa Garcia, Alexis Cantu, Giselle Sanchez, Jasmin Apolinar, Alyza Garza, and Gavin Martinez.
Celebrating the Heart of the Mighty Cardinal Band
The Southside ISD Band Boosters Club is one of several dedicated organizations committed to supporting our students. Recently, a parent highlighted their exceptional efforts in going above and beyond for the band. Before each weekend competition, the boosters play a crucial role by preparing meals, organizing and packing equipment, and loading it all into a trailer. Their dedication doesn’t stop there; they also inspire other parents and uplift the entire band community with their commitment. Additionally, the boosters run the concession stand at home football games to raise funds that directly benefit the band. Join us to cheer on the band and the boosters at the Area Marching Contest on Saturday, October 26th, at 2 PM at John Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park, Texas!
