Parents and families, tonight is TELPAS Night at Pearce Elementary! Students and families will be able to get more information about TELPAS and how they can incorporate learning at home. We will have games, food, door prizes and even a salsa contest! Let’s see which family has the BEST salsa!
What is TELPAS? TELPAS is an assessment program for students in Texas public schools who are learning the English language. The letters in TELPAS stand for the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System. The Texas Education Agency developed TELPAS to meet state and federal requirements.

Next week, Oct. 24-28, is Red Ribbon Week and we have some more fun dress-up days to show our drug-free pride! Students will also be receiving a red ribbon for the week and every day, we will announce students to win a prize in our Red Ribbon Alerts.

Today was our annual Spanish Spelling Bee with our bilingual classes! We are so very proud of all of our students who participated, and big thank you to everyone who helped out in the event. We have five students who will be representing Pearce at the district Spanish Spelling Bee in November. Good luck to the following students: Luis Pina (4th), Oscar Soto (3rd), Omar Saso (4th), Elian Vasquez (4th) and Dianelys Martinez (5th).
