The Southside ISD 2019-2020 school calendar has school starting August 13, 2019 and Ending May 22, 2020. Please check back for school start and end times.
Some 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students from all over the district enjoyed a week of summer school by creating projects and programming robots. Students created a path for the Ozobots to follow along with a few twists and detours.
The month of May is going by way too fast! We have several grades going on their final field trips and water days to celebrate all the hard work our students have been doing this school year.
June 6- End of year Awards assembly/last day of school.
Help us as we celebrate our wonderful nurse Jennifer Farias on Wednesday May 1. We want to thank Nurse Farias for taking care of all our students at Pearce everyday with compass, understanding and a caring heart.

Pearce Fiesta Parade will be Thursday April 25 at 1 PM. We will showcase the creativity that our students have when making a shoe box float.
We have some very talented artist at Pearce. Come see for yourself on Monday April 22 at 5:30 to see art work done by our students. Students pictures are decorating the walls of Pearce Elementary and we will have an arts and crafts workshop in the cafeteria. We will be using recycled materials to create unique works of art. Help out our PTO by stopping by the concession stand.
A big Thanks to all of the wonderful presenters for coming to Pearce to share their professions with our students on Career Day. The students are having a great time learning about different jobs available to them. We had Police dog trainers, SAPD, Via bus, SA Fire department, FFA, HEB, Military, Photographer, Martial Arts, Physical Trainer, Zumba instructor, Hair dresser, Wood crafting and many more presenters volunteering their time for our school.
Parents, Please be sure to plan ahead. These are the State assessment dates for our students at Pearce that require them to be on time 7:15 am and be present the entire day. Make sure your child gets enough sleep and is well rested for the day.
April 9th – 4th grade Writing- & 5th grade Math
April 10th – 5th grade Reading
May 13th – 3rd & 4th grade Math
May 14th – 3rd & 4th grade Reading
May 15th – 5th grade Science
March 11th to 15th is Spring Break- Have fun, rest be safe and be ready to return on Monday March 18.
March 20th will host a Girl Scout information/Registration meeting at 6 pm in the cafeteria.
March 22 is our annual Career Day. We are encouraging students to think about their future and all the careers available like Nursing, Technology, Fire department, Counseling, Truck driver etc.
March 29 is Family fun night 5 to 7 PM.. This will take the place of our carnival. You pay to get in and enjoy all the activities for free. Concessions will be available as in the past like hamburgers, Nachos, Hot dogs, chips and drinks.
We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss birthday starting Monday Feb. 25 by wearing stripes like “Cat in the Hat”.
Tuesday is wear a mustache like the “Lorax”.
Wednesday is “Fox in Socks” day wear crazy socks.
Thursday is “O the Places you will Go” to College. Wear your favorite college shirt.
Friday is wear green for “Green Eggs and Ham”.
