Kindergarten had a special visit from Ranger Drissi from the San Juan Missions! She brought animal skins and taught our students about predators and prey. Our scholars had so much fun learning about the animals! Pictured are Mrs. Fuentes & Mrs. Castaño’s classes. Thank you to Mrs. Combee for inviting her to our campus!

High School Freshman Serves as Cici the Cardinal Weekly

We love that Cici the Cardinal came to visit all of our PK-3 and PK-4 classes to start their day off great! We are lucky that Southside High School freshman, Marco Martinez III, volunteers every single week to be Cici for Southside ISD’s littlest learners. He wakes up early to come see students before heading to the high school to start his day! ❤️🖤🤍 Southside Pride!

Perla Rojas

Mrs. Rojas joined the Menchaca family this school year and we are incredibly lucky to have her. She brings over 20 years of experience in dual language and early childhood where all of her students continue to thrive. Where learning can be fun and engaging, Mrs. Rojas provides opportunities for her students to flourish. Her dramatic play centers are creative, hands-on, and a lot of fun for her students! You can see the relationships she’s built with students beyond her own classroom, too. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Rojas!


KLRN Workshop at SHS on February 8, 2023

On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Southside Education Association/TSTA will be co-hosting a KRLN Workshop at Southside High School.
Building healthy eating habits in kids takes time, patience, and persistence but there are simple ways to help make food preparation and mealtime more fun for everyone. Using Sesame Street’s Communities resources will make Healthy Eating Fun! We will review videos, articles, and handouts that will make healthy eating fun for all.
